“The figure was carved from granite in an era when there were no metal tools available”???

BBC News posted an article on February 14, 2017 entitled: “Greece Displays ‘7,000-year-old archaeological enigma.” The article says the carved object is “7,000 years old, prior to the time that humans had developed metal tools”. Scientists have postulated that it took thousands of years of human evolution for humans to begin working with tools.

“Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron” (Genesis 4:22 NIV). If scientists believed that the Bible accurately reports on matters from the distant past, they would have already known this. Nevertheless, the fact is that science has discovered what the Bible accurately 3,500 years ago — that the earliest humans used tools. read more

“How Can the Universe Expand If There Is No Extra Space?”

February 13, 2017 BibleAuthenticity

On February 13, 2017, BBC published an article entitled “How the Universe can expand if there is no extra space.”

The 2017 BBC Earth article asserted that the universe is not expanding into an external void. Instead, it explained that the “fabric” of space itself is stretching, meaning there is no outside edge or extra space for the universe to grow into.]

DO WE REALLY UNDERSTAND THE UNIVERSE?

As God asked Job 3,500 years ago: “Have you grasped the celestial laws?” (Job 38:33 NJB)

We know much more today than Job did then, but our answer would also be: “not really.”

However, the Bible does enlighten us far beyond science, although we appreciate good science.

Can God the Father Be the Only Almighty?

February 11, 2017 BibleAuthenticity

Is it possible that God the Father is the only one who is Almighty, and his Son, Jesus Christ and the holy Spirit are not Almighty?

“The Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Spirit Almighty. And yet there are not three Almighties, but one Almighty”—Athanasian Creed

The Trinity doctrine asserts that the three Trinitarian beings “are co-equal and co-eternal.” Let’s examine what the Bible says about Almighty God.

ALMIGHTY GOD IS THE FATHER

“If I am indeed father, where is the honor due to me? says Yahweh Sabaoth” (Malachi 1:6 NJB). “Do we not all have one Father? Has not one God created us?” (Malachi 2:10 NASB). The “one God” is identified with “Yahweh”, the Father. These scriptures thus contradict the Trinity doctrine, which claims the one God is the Trinity – the Father, the Son, and the holy Spirit. God is identified as “one” [Hebrew “echad”], not three-in-one. “Echad” is the numeral “one.” It is not a compound unity. read more

On January 30, 2017, BBC News published an article entitled “Scientists find ‘oldest human ancestor,'” asserting that humans evolved from other life forms. Notice how many times conjectural words such as “thought to,” “probably,” “may,” “we think,” “suggests,” “conclude,” and “might” appear in this short article.

Artist’s reconstruction of Saccorhytus coronarius, based on the original fossil finds. The actual creature was **probably** no more than a millimetre in size

Have scientists actually found “the oldest human ancestor”? Whereas the Bible attributes all creatures to being created by God, scientists attribute all living creatures to evolution. read more

From relief to regret: Readers’ experiences of abortion

February 9, 2017 BibleAuthenticity

On January 30, 2017, BBC News published an article entitled “From relief to regret: Readers’ experiences of abortion.” The article can be found here: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38775641. Notice the high percentage of women who express regret and remorse over having had an abortion. Also, note the high percentage of those who view the unborn child as a human person, rather than a piece of tissue.

A basic sense of right and wrong is programmed into each human by God. “I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts” (Hebrews 8:10 NIV). This is more or less true to an extent even among those who are not Christians. Of course, it is also true that the “consciences [of many people] have been seared as with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:2 NIV) after people begin to violate them over time. read more

Priesthood of the Believer

February 9, 2017 BibleAuthenticity

Is the Bible reliable? — What is the priesthood of the believer??

Do people have approach to God only through a clergy class, priests, church, an organization, a certain denomination, or is approach to God directly through Jesus Christ, and him alone? What is the priesthood of the believer?

The Bible is written so that anyone can read and understand it for themselves, but each person has a serious responsibility to use the Bible correctly, “accurately handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15 NASB).
